Reactions and Reviews: Issue 1 and 2

There've been a lot of changes in Collinsport since 1971 but as the saying goes, the more things change, the more they remain the same. Angelique and Barnabas finally reconcile… then find the happily ever afters are just for stories. Can either or them really ever now what they want out of life? Now human, Barnabas finds as many causes to involve his interests as ever. Maggie finally grows out of her 'victim' role, into one where she actively takes charge of her life. Chris Jennings and Sabrina Stuart get together, and find a unique way of dealing with his prob1em. .. but are less than prepared for the troubles brought by Amy Jennings and David Collins in an unwanted visit back home. Carolyn lives up--or down--to the lowest habits of the Collins family. If she can't be happy, why should anyone else be? Megan Todd is back...and so, apparently, is Philip. Definitely not dead from his fall from Widow's Hill..and yet is this man, who looks so much like Philip, really her long lost husband? Nicholas Blair is back, too, and dealing with devils of his own. (Portions of Adraian's story on Nicholas which appeared in TWODS #26 are here in expanded form, as an integral part of her plot.) If the above seems complicated or rambling, it's because I'm trying to convey the complexity of what Adriana is doing. It's as involved as DS ever was, with the background of modern and problems adding even more to the difficulties of our heroes and antiheroes (-ines, also.) Told with a touch of cynisicm and a good eye for human nature, Adriana' s people are not quite the ones we knew...but are, perhaps, what they will become after another 20 crazy years in the 20th century. Adriana plans on continuing her saga in future volumes, so if you enjoy the first two, be sure to support her efforts to bring out additional books. [3]
