1991 flyer advertising the reissue

It was originally sold as three separate volumes (each representing a season of the show), and then as one volume bound together.

It contains references to de Beaumont and/or Cocteau, quotes and analysis by episode.

The First Issue, First Season

The first volume covered the first season. It was published in 1988 and contains 20 pages. At some point, there was a revised edition.

A thank you:

I certainly hope you enjoy this work. I must here give thanks to several people, notably the wonderful folks at the Fullerton Public Library — many of them Beastfans (Beastfen? Beastophiles?) themselves — without whose help this compendium would certainly have been delayed, if not impossible, and of course to my husband Mark, whose flying fingers and preefrooding [hee hee - Ed.] skill were of immense help.

The First Issue, Second Season

The second volume covered the second season. It was published in 1989 and contains 47 pages.

A dedication:

Dedicated to The Faithful Communities of Helpers who support The Brotherhood of Pain's vision of Beauty and the Beast.

A thank you, which differs slightly from the one in the first issue:

I certainly hope you enjoy this work. I must here give thanks to several people, notably the wonderful folks at the Fullerton Public Library — many of them Beastfans (Beastfen? Beastophiles?) themselves — without whose help this compendium would certainly have been delayed, if not impossible, and of course to my husband Mark, whose flying fingers and preefrooding [hee hee - Ed.] skill were of immense help. Thanks also to the Helpers who gave us tremendous last-minute help with everything from answering mail to babysitting (Debbie, Robin and Terri especially), and to those who sent us references - your contributions are greatly appreciated.
