Summary
Grad student Blair Sandburg is sent to Peru to help out his old friend Eli Stoddard. What he finds instead leads to romance, adventure, danger—and quite possibly his destiny.
Reactions and Reviews
It's an AU where Jim works for an elite research group that studies and tries to help Sentinels, among other things. He meets Blair when Eli Stoddard, who Blair has been working with, is murdered in Peru; Jim is dispatched to rescue Blair and get him out of the country. Anyway, it's a huge long epic, almost 500k, and really well-written.[1]
This is a long, engrossing AU that takes bits and pieces of canon and, like a jigsaw puzzle, puts them together to reveal an intelligent and satisfying read. With an AU this long and complicated, it would be tempting for the author to invent a lot of OCs. Instead, Veronica sources generously from canon characters to build her world. Although most of them don’t keep their canon histories, they still retain their characterizations; they are easily recognizable as the old friends (and enemies) that you know from the show. Veronica is a terrific, passionate writer and she’s been recced at CV quite often over the years; deservedly so. Immerse yourself and enjoy.[2]
