Textual Analysis; or, How a Book Changed Danny's Life is a Steve/Danny story by soera.
Summary: A consultant has been commissioned by various law enforcement agencies to do some research into the mechanisms of partnership and what makes an effective command team. When this consultant comes to Hawaii, the governor forces Steve to have this person around for a couple of weeks as an observer. When the report/book comes out, there are a number of partnership/management styles outlined in it, with descriptions on the degrees of success. Steve and Danny’s style is called something along the lines of *the Married style*.

Someone writes a book about different police partnership styles and they use the Five 0 team as one of their case studies. Of course the book describes Steve and Danny a “Married Couple” and everyone on the island reads the book and teases them. This eventually leads to them getting together for real.[2]
It’s all fun and games until Danny realizes it’s totally true. And then it’s awesome. I just love it when Danny just plays along with this stuff, he gets a bit caustic when he doesn’t.[3]
