Purchase by Disney October 2012
The news that Disney has purchased the Star Wars IP from Lucas has been rolling through fandom. I might try to write up something, unless someone more versed in SW history wants to give it a go. -Jaetion

Break out subpages?
A lot of awesome info here! The page seems to be getting really long, though. Any sections anyone would recommend breaking out to make this more of an overview with links to more detailed information? -the old briar pipe (talk) 06:04, 31 January 2016 (UTC)

- I hesitate to suggest this, lest I be pilloried, but the first half+ of the page (the longest bit) is explicitly the Original Trilogy fandom, while almost none of the page is devoted specifically to the two other trilogies. All of the material from sections 1-10 could be placed on a page that overviews the fandom for the Original Trilogy, and the top section of this page could be made to more broadly discuss the multiple layers/time periods of the fandom. "Impact of the Star Wars Prequel Movies" could also be moved to the Prequel overview page, which I'm fairly certain exists. Thoughts? - Yay, I dodged a rail! Do we have consensus among interested parties? And can we move #18 "sections to add" to the talk page here? That would drop us down to 9 relatively shorter sections + a slight expansion of the introduction, which I think the page could probably support without overwhelming visitors.
