I think the term has also come up in discussions of fannish refusal to accept the stated moral order or message in the original text (for instance, identifying the Slytherins as the true heroes of the Harry Potter books), but I can't find a citation offhand for that.--Penknife 15:37, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

I've started with the broader use in fandom, and rephrased the bit about resistant reading as a way of queering the text in slash theory so that I think it's a little more clear -- if I'm mis-characterizing the academic theory, though, please feel free to fix.--Penknife 13:18, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
