Talk:Orphaning Fanworks

Doh! Thank you MegR for adding the links to the actual orphaned fics at AO3! (I knew there was something I'd thought I should link to before I hit save the page, but I kept spacing on what it was. /o\ ) --Sk 00:03, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

Heh. I was actually only citing it as a reference, and then I belatedly thought, oh wait, maybe it's of general interest. There must be someway to cut that wall of text down, but I can't concentrate on it right now. Also I vaguely recall some criticism over the use of the word 'orphan', and therefore an attempt to name it something more neutral in the translations? I *think* it was on a otw_news post, I'll hunt it down tomorrow if someone doesn't find it first. MegR
Here it is! --Mrs. Potato Head 00:44, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
Thank you both! I added it in, but I have no idea where on the OTW or (German version of?) the AO3 site it is used in the wild (this search of the German version of the OTW site yielded no results), so I couldn't link to a relevant live example of the term on the OTW.de or AO3 site. Maybe that'll come, or maybe a German-site using fl editor will find & link an example. :) --Sk 03:28, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
Er, what would have really helped is if I'd spelled the word correctly in my http://transformativeworks.org/de/ search -- with correct spelling there is an instance on the OTW site, for the 2010 version of the roadmap. I'm still hoping for a link to/version of the Archive FAQ in German or something similar that might showcase its use in the archive more for use on the fl page though. --Sk 03:34, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
