Talk:Hebrew Bible

I've seen "Holy Bible" as red fandom link, and considered making a redirect, but of course this is more specific. And I've been wondering whether we really need separate pages for the different Bible parts. I mean, it seems fairly small as a fandom, though I'm not familiar enough with Bible fandom to say whether there is enough of fandom stuff with different canons so that having a single page with sections wouldn't work well. But I think even if we split the Fandom Text pages into this one and one for the Christian version(s) (are there any other expansions that get fic? like Book of Mormon fanfic or the like?) I think we should consider to at least make the category just "Bible" to bundle these.--RatCreature 16:22, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

There seems to be only this page for any Bible fanfic whatsoever, whether Hebrew or Christian Bible, which removes any possibility of talking about fannishness over the New Testament. I think the best thing to do would be to turn this page into "Bible", which could then be talked about in subcategories as required, since, as you say, it's a small fandom. I'm leery of making the change, however, without first getting input from someone who's more involved in the part of the fandom that's focused on the Hebrew Bible. -- Sophia sol 19:28, 23 August 2010

Probably better to keep this page as-is, as this is both the correct academic term for the Old Testament, and the term most used in fandom, and then add a new page for Bible (New Testament). Fic for one or the other doesn't tend to have much overlap, so they probably shouldn't be considered the same fandom, although you could link from one page to the other as "See Also". Okay, I've created a separate page for Bible (New Testament) with a few basic details, and linked the two together. Sophia sol 07:10, 27 August 2010

Bible RPF

I've made a page for fanworks that focus on people in the Hebrew and New Testament Bibles and called it Bible RPF.

This leaves the Hebrew and New Testament Bible pages with a focus on meta, discussion, portrays of characters, and a link to fiction and art. If this idea does not appeal, go ahead and combine them again? --MPH 15:24, 5 March 2024 (UTC)

I posted some thoughts at Talk:Bible RPF about how to differentiate.--aethel (talk) 17:32, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
