I seem to remember, from HP fandom, humorfic (by which was meant crackfic, whether or not the term was in common use) having an extremely bad reputation. Then again, I mostly hung out on fic parody sites and might have a skewed view of the sitch. Does anyone else remember this? The (usually young) author being all (to quote Clam Chowder) "I HAVE HAD 27 CANS OF PEPSI!!!! MAYBE NEXT TIEM THEY WILL FALL DOWN THE STAIRS!!!" --Emma 16:23, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

I don't know about HP fandom, but some ff.net anime fandoms had a lot of such sugar-high fic, usually written by younger (high school or below) fans. I can't remember if it was called crackfic, however. It's a genre distinctly different from the crackfic of certain modern fandoms such as SGA, which tends toward more conscious exercises in absurdism...but then I haven't been regularly on ff.net for a while; they might still be common there? --Xparrot 19:26, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

Crack!vid - subsection here or separate page?

so there's a fanvid trend of "crack!vids" that are full of commentaries/fan reactions to canon developments. Crack vid redirects here, so my question is: should I put the entry on crack vids here or as a separate page? Thoughts? --Alex (talk) 00:09, 15 December 2014 (UTC)

Agree we should have something about crack vids. Search "[any current and popular anime] crack" on Youtube and the results are extensive. Maybe a separate page for crack video? --Assassin J (talk) 23:55, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
I added a bit.--Assassin J (talk) 21:16, 7 January 2017 (UTC)
