- Yes, it should. The Japanese term BL stands for boys' love (or boys love), and I've never seen boy love in English, either. (Mostly in English it's yaoi or just BL.) --Kyuuketsukirui 05:29, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
- Wikipedia's page on shounen-ai always writes it as boys' love, too. I don't see a link to move the page, or I would do it myself, but it looks like the term in English is the same as in Japanese, so it really should be moved. --Kyuuketsukirui 05:41, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

factcheck on danmei?
This sentence on Danmei seems incorrect: "It isn't explicit, instead being focused more on story, theme, and character." Is this a reference to Dangai dramas, which replace gay text with subtext, but from what I've read are not considered to be the same genre as Danmei? Or is this a reference to sexually explicit content? I think Danmei novels have become more censored over time; they may not be sexually explicit now, but they sometimes were in the past.--aethel (talk) 00:18, 25 February 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah, that sentence is definitely not correct. Even just looking at the danmei stories that are popular in English-speaking fandom, both Mo Dao Zu Shi and Scum Villain (among many others) contain explicit sex scenes.
- Edit: This bit is also inaccurate: "the main characters sharing a relationship that's the most idealized version of romance that can be possible" Relationships vary as much from danmei to danmei as they do in any other type of story. To go back to the examples I just used, the dysfunctional nature of the main ship in Scum Villain is a big part of the story (and of the joke it's making).--Malcontent (talk) 01:16, 25 February 2024 (UTC)
