This could use a section on the various books and sources used by the creators and by fans--Ambrose's book, Webster's book, Winters' autobio, widespread reading of "Coming Out Under Fire," etc.--the cobbling together of a historical RPF canon. Also possibly a section on unique ethical considerations and whether the fandom has/fans have developed certain lines that in other RPF fandoms they would be more willing to cross. --LC 06:56, 30 September 2008 (UTC)

Gwyneth: To answer the question in your edit summary ("I'm still really confused about naming conventions on fanworks"), the conventions are for page titles only. Within a page, if you want to list stuff as title - author or title by author or author's title or something else entirely, it's all up to you, depending on what seems appropriate for that space (frex, author's title might be more appropriate within a sentence, but title - author or title by author or title (author) works better for a list). Obviously if someone else has already started a list, going by what's there already when you add new stuff is preferred, rather than having things listed different ways. Hope that clarifies things some. --Kyuuketsukirui 05:45, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Thank you! It seems like everywhere I look, it's different, and I have so much trouble with this wiki language and doing things right in the first place (I really seem to be having trouble grasping the small details, and it just feels very foreign to me) that this naming fanworks thing actually almost makes me reluctant to do it at all!--gwyn 20:07, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, it can be daunting to get used to all at once, and hopefully at some point there will be a page with more clear guidelines. Don't be afraid to do stuff and make mistakes, though. Gardeners can always come along and rename stuff properly. Other people can come along and do clean up. At this point the goal is really getting the info in there in the first place. :) --Kyuuketsukirui

logged-out AO3 stats

This edit included only the logged-out statistics for AO3 fanworks. The logged-in counts are higher. Today it looks like 133 out of 2462 Band of Brothers fanworks or 5% are archive-locked, which I think is close to the average on AO3?--aethel (talk) 00:31, 16 April 2019 (UTC)
