I wanted to add Sherlock (TV) and the episode "Scandal in Belgravia" (as an example in canon) but don't know enough about the subject to do it intelligently. --Mrs. Potato Head 17:03, 3 September 2012 (UTC)

Just go for it! -- Adler is a broadly positive take on a dominatrix in a decidedly mainstream show. Espresso Addict 15:25, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
I went for it, and in fact, cribbed a phrase from you. --Mrs. Potato Head 15:43, 4 September 2012 (UTC)

I need help with a title. I need to make an article for a K/S story called "Bondage." How should I do this with the redirect for that word going here? --Mrs. Potato Head (talk) 21:07, 10 December 2012 (UTC)

Turn Bondage into a disambiguation page pointing to BDSM and Bondage (Star Trek story) (or something like it).--æþel (talk) 22:15, 10 December 2012 (UTC)

BDSM in canon?

Why is there such a huge focus on BDSM in canon? Shouldn't this page focus on BDSM in fanworks and not on random canon examples? Especially the canon "examples wanted" label makes this weird. With regard to canon, it would make more sense to me to list canon character dynamics or events, etc. that lead to BDSM fic/art/vids in a particular fandom (some definitely have more than others and there are reasons...). --Doro (talk) 23:36, 13 March 2021 (UTC)

I agree that it should be more focused on fan tropes and fanworks, than canon examples -- Kingstoken (talk) 23:53, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
I also agree that it should be more focused on fan tropes and fanworks. I have moved the BDSM in Canon section, which could be considered a subsection, to the area below the Tropes and Styles and Example Fanworks sections. -- Shadowsplay (talk) 06:49, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
Could the Tropes and Styles of BDSM Fanworks section be a subsection of a new BDSM in Fanworks section? Because the paragraph on BDSM in White Collar is more focused on why BDSM appeared in that fandom, rather than the tropes used. That paragraph could be part of a wider BDSM in fanworks section looking at why BDSM is more prevalent in some fandoms but not others (like Doro suggested). There's also very little on this page related to BDSM in fanart, and I do think the ExpandArticle flag should be in the fandom section. --Auntags (talk) 11:53, 14 March 2021 (UTC)

Example Fanworks

QUESTION: Is there an etiquette for the order when adding one's own fanwork? I added my fanfic novel, DarkShadowsPlay, to the bottom of the list of fanworks, as I don't know any guideline for the ordering of fanworks when adding one's own (of course I would love to put mine first! LOL). Shadowsplay (talk) 06:55, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
Nope there's no set rule on how to organize example fanworks. Some pages have fanworks in chronological or alphabetical order. That doesn't appear to be the case here. There may have been an early attempt to list alphabetically but recent additions do seem to be at the bottom, in the order they were added to the page. --Auntags (talk) 11:48, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
