Created page because I kept being confused that there was a page for the fic's podfic but not for the fic itself. Unfortunately I have not yet (and won't for a while) figured out how to add pretty images -- like the story cover at the fic website -- to fanlore pages :( -- but if someone with image-linky skill feels like doing so... :) --Sk 05:34, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
- When you are logged in, there is an upload link on the left side under Toolbox. If you click the link, you open an upload window and can upload pretty much anything. It's not that different from uploading a LiveJournal icon. You should make sure the file name doesn't have a "--" in it because Fanlore doesn't handle that well. Everything else you can add after you've uploaded the image. To add it to a page, just copy the file name (beginning with File: and ending with jpg or whatever format the file has), add |thumb after the file name and format it like a normal wikilink. - ETA: Fanlore adds the "File:" when you upload the image. There is no need to name the image "file" anything on your computer and you only see the "file" part after you have uploaded. --Doro 08:19, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

- Not so much personal preference as inexperience! Is there a good way to get it higher up (without making the text-spacing too wacky)? I used the {div}tag tip for getting it right-aligned from your userpage, but maybe that's not the optimal way here? --Sk 10:19, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

- Heh. *g* The {div} formatting is to avoid images stacking up and what it does is force an image under another image or under the infobox. If you just want an image to align right, it's enough to add "|thumb" after the image name because the default for thumbnails is to align right (if you want it to align left, you have to explicitly tell it to place the thumbnail left, like this "|thumb|left" . This is the code for a right-aligned thumbnail: [[File:AndBeOneTraveler-cover.png|thumb]] and this is the code for a left-aligned thumbnail: [[File:AndBeOneTraveler-cover.png|thumb|left]] If you want it to have text, just add the text after another "|", like this : [[File:AndBeOneTraveler-cover.png|thumb|And Be One Traveler cover art by [[siriaeve]]]] The default size for a thumbnail is 180px so you don't have to add information about the thumbnail size if you don't want something bigger or smaller than 180px. Here you made it bigger by adding "|200px" which is already advanced formatting. ;) On a page like this I would probably add the cover to the infobox (after the external links; in this case add a <br> between the links and the image und used the left-aligned formatting) or right after the infobox, before the first line of the text. (Images used to be named "Image:" instead of "File:" and I haven't updated my explanations yet, but it makes no difference to the formatting. ^^) --Doro 11:15, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

If you don't want the image to sit all by its little self in a sea of white (especially if this is the One Major Image for the page), then you can put it inside the infobox. To do this, simply put the [[File:AndBeOneTraveler-cover.png|thumb]] underneath the infobox fill-in-the-blank stuff, but above the final }}, which must always go on its own line. If you do that, the text will wrap tidily around the infobox in the usual way. --Greer Watson 14:24, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
