  • Author's Page (2)
  • Masquerade ("This story picks up where "Trial Run left off. It is several months after Catherine's decision to move below and a lot has happened to bring her and Vincent closer into a family unit.") (3)
  • Devin Strikes Again ("This story goes back in time a bit. Before Trial Run and the advent of Vincent and Catherine's closeness. Approximately back to the second season of the show. I must apologize to those who do not prefer time sequence stories, but I felt telling the story using the pictures as a reference, was essential to the plot. I made the use of divider lines to better accent the breaks.") (27)
  • The First Time (39)
  • Puppy Love ("This story is for the animal lovers out there. It chronicles Vincent's first lessons in fatherhood.") (73)
  • The Big Chill ("his story stems from a request I received from a fan. In many ways it gives another look at the love scene that did not take place in "Thou Lovers Be Lost."") (83)
  • Of Love and Hope ("This, the title story deals with one of the sweetest moments in any two people's lives. It has been several months since Catherine moved below and the two of them

were married.") (103)

  • Bonds: Tunnel Fever (117)

Reactions and Reviews: Issue 1

“Masquerade” follows the storyline of author's Trial Run (which see); V/C host a Halloween party Joe attends, then V/C go to the theatre. In “Devin Strikes Again,” V/C/Devin share an outing, with flashbacks and keepsake photos. You get the idea. Stories are loose and rambling, but not completely without structure. [1]

Issue 2

Tales of Love and Hope 2 was published in April 1992 and contains 153 pages. It is subtitled: "A Greater Love Has Never Been."

cover of issue #2

It has art by Barbara Gudlauski and calligraphy by Karen Schoelkopf.

  • Author's Page (3)
  • So Sweet, the Child ("Let me take this time to apologize to all of you out there, who do not like time-flight stories. I find them a lot of fun to write. That they come out quite enchanting when properly done. As always I use a line of stars to divide the scenes, sometimes building up to the event before I switch over. This piece is being played intermittently in Vincent's memory, which makes it a truly adorable story. ENJOY!") (4)
  • Symphony of Love ("*A note of amusement, I just had to share with you. The above story was one of the last stories I had to edit. I edited it, unfortunately on Friday the 13th. Meaning I hit the wrong button and erased all 12 pages. If that wasn't bad enough, I rewrote it, from memory, staying up late into the morning and had only the closing to finish, when I hit the wrong button again and erased it. I really started to say the heck with it, but it was to me such an amusing little tale, I had to give it one more shot. So here it was. Sorry for any of the really hot stuff I left out from the first two times ") (19)
  • Beneath the Moonlight's Glow (33)
  • Sweet Surrender ("This story picks up two months after the end of "Beneath the Moonlight's Glow." Things have definitely progressed, but not as far as Catherine would have liked them too. See what she does about it. ENJOY!")(55)
  • To Walk in the Sunshine ("Here is the long awaited sequel to "Of love and Hope." Will Vincent's child be like it's mother or it's father. The answer awaits. Enjoy!")(76)
  • Precious Moment: The Wedding (94)
  • A Greater Love Has Never Been (105)
  • Some Things Are Worth Waiting For ("This story is the continuation of a love story that was started in "Tales of Love & Hope 1", entitled "The First Time." To help you pick up where we left off, I have replayed the last page of that story. To give you a running start, so to speak. The setting is in Vincent's guest chamber and the hour is very early .... Enjoy!")(118)
  • Ten Days Lost and Found ("I got to thinking what exactly attracted me the season's opener and more importantly how I would have wanted it to be. Being a non violent person at heart, I wished they'd spent less time on the attacks and more emphasis on what happened in those ten days below. I couldn't quite understand how a woman of Catherine's breeding and I.Q could become so easily comfortable with the circumstances she was presented with. (The attack, waking in a strange environment, not having her questions answered fully, and being blindfolded per say.) All seemed to me hard to swallow in the eleven minutes of television time they gave to it. When the book was published that supposedly elaborated on that episode, I had my order in four months in advance. Unfortunately, this version added little to answer my growing curiosity on the subject, and I was forced to use my own imagination to come up with the answers. Obviously something wonderful happened to put Catherine so at ease, but what? I would ask that you use your imagination a bit on this story. Imagine you are Catherine, lying blindfolded in Vincent's bed. You have just been attacked and now lay helpless to those who have abducted you. I tried to write the story from what Catherine might have perceived. I hope I have succeeded.") (130)
