Slippery When Wet is a 177-page slash anthology. It is a theme zine with all the stories containing the phrase, "slippery when wet." This zine is also included in the compilation Pros Theme Zine 2.

From Media Monitor; "The latest issue of this Bodie/Doyle theme zine from the Home of Professional Madness includes a novellla by Too Loose - Bodie and Doyle take a trip on 'The Love Boat' that changes their lives."

From On the Double #25: "I'm going to debut "Slippery When Wet" at MediaWest*Con 13, in May 1993, so the deadline is April 15, 1993. This will give you plenty of time to get all those naughty bits floating around in your head down onto paper!"

Contents

The editorial includes this statement: "From the editor: Welcome to another issue, of my Theme Zines, "SLIPPERY WHEN WET." As you can see, the zine has a new look. This is mainly due to the simple fact I broke down and got a computer. It also helps to have great friends helping you out with laser printers and scanners. Thanks."

  • Slippery...Wet or Dry by M.A. Calhoon (1)
  • Something New, poem by Patt (15)
  • Ship of Fools by Too Loose (29) (Author's notes: "Author's note - I just wanted to say a few words about how this story came about. The bare bones of the story came from a romance novel I read many years ago. while taking a cruise with some friends, I remembered bits and pieces of the story from way back when, and the next thing I knew, I was hammering this monster out. I tried to be as accurate as possible on the medical sequences, but there are a few things that I stretch the truth on a tiny bit! I hope you enjoyed the piece!")

Reactions and Reviews

[Ship of Fools]: As I recall, this is the one where an ocean cruise ship makes a port-of-call stop in PARIS. Laughs galore, albeit unintentional.

I couldn't resist looking nervously out of the window for the chimney stacks and the flag, you know? Just before the window disappeared from my sight, substituted by the ceiling as I rolled on the floor laughing. Unreasonable I know -- the ship might have passed any of the 20 arrondissements, why hope for mine?
What can you expect from the captain of a Ship of Fools? He must have been in-Seine. [1]
