Reactions and Reviews

Contrary to the title, there are 12 instinctive behaviors that are explored delightfully by Betty. These are little slices of life that follow the progression of the series and are episode-related. There's Jim comforting Blair post-Maya and Blair comforting Jim post-Incacha. Blair reflects on the dangerous path he's chosen after Danny Choi's death and on his own death and resurrection. And, as in the series, we see their evolving relationship.[4]

Betty is a fairly new writer to TS but has made an impact on me by writing refreshing stories with a snarky Jim and Blair, who *know* they are attracted to each other but haven't acted on that attraction so far. Don't worry, I'm sure the series "Sixteen Instinctual Behaviors" will shift from pre-slash to slash pretty soon and then we'll actually get some sex.[5]

I know, I know, you’re asking yourself “is there anyone who likes things to be less porny?” Well, I’ve never actually seen such a creature, but I remain convinced of the possibility of one. And, really, even if you prefer to read under the NC-17 label, this is a good place to start because you get an excellent sense, not only of the characters, but also of the progression of their lives and their relationship. And that last is hard to get without watching the show. [6]
