Severus Snape and the Marauders is a Fan Film featuring Severus Snape, James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew, and Lily Evans directly after their graduation from Hogwarts. It is an explanation for one of the many reasons Snape was pushed to join Voldemort, and features a fight between the Marauders and Snape. Many viewers are stunned by the way editors were able to create magic, in particular the intricate battle scenes, and the animagus transformation of Peter Pettigrew.

Broad Strokes Productions followed with The Great Wizarding War.

Summary

Set in 1978 just after Harry Potter's father James graduates from Hogwarts, he and his friends Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew celebrate at a bar, contemplating their place in a war they are to soon become a part of. When Severus Snape enters the same bar, knowing the part he might play in the war, James Potter decides to do something about Snape once and for all.[1]

Creation

This project was funded entirely by fans through Kickstarter. However, the Project Page show that the project has been shut down due to a copyright dispute. While it has been confirmed that Warner Bros did contact Broad Strokes Productions, they only asked that the production company not raise any more money, and the film did not need to be shut down.

The entire film was shot in four days, but the postproduction effort took about a year to complete.[2] The music was composed by Alexander Arntzen, and many of the songs are played by a 65 instrument orchestra.
