Reactions/Reviews

This vid was reviewed by Lyndasty on the reel vidding community on January 2, 2009:

Overall Impression: A good look at John Sheppard and Elizabeth Weir's relationship through the seasons.

Titles: None that I saw.

Music choice: Savin' Me is one of my absolute favorite songs and I thought it fit the subject of the vid very well.

Narration, Tone and Movement: The narration of the vid when paired with the song worked well for John and Elizabeth. The tone accurately portrayed how one of the them was always in danger and, therefore, left the other in need of being saved. I thought the vid moved well, too. The choice of the clips matched the lyrics almost spot on.

Cuts, Transitions, Effects & Colouring/Coloring: The effects of the vid were distracting. It was like there was a circle around the clips and, because of that, some of the clips were cut off where you couldn't really see John and Liz's interaction. It would've been better and easier to focus if the circle would've been used more sparingly and only around like the beginning or end. That way it would've felt less forced or overdone. There really wasn't any special coloring done in the vid nor were there any transitions which I liked.

Specific vid & music notes: I liked the use of shots that are usually used more in slash vids as well as clips from "The Real World" which most SGA fans ignore. I think those are my favorite parts of the vid. And again, I adore 'Savin' Me' so that was a bonus.

Final notes: Overall, a very good vid that just had some technical issues with the use of effects. I'm a slasher mainly but I could completely lose myself in John and Elizabeth's relationship in this vid.
