The Sakura Lemon Fanfiction Archive was a major archive of lemons (i.e. smut) in anime and manga fandoms. It had large Sailor Moon and Ranma 1/2 sections among others. It closed suddenly in 2006, though it had not been updated for several years prior.

While who the homepage of the website in 2006 had a short introduction about the content of the website, which can be read below:

Welcome to Sakura Lemon Fan-Fiction Archive. This Archive is dedicated to become the #1 site for Adult and Hentai/Ecchi/H/Sukebe Fan-fiction relating to Japanese Animation as well as Comics and American Animation. This stuff ranges from innocent to the most extreme.

Problem: The webpage administrators here have found it rather frustrating that there is a lot of interesting Fan-Fiction out there in this category, but the problem is finding it! And depending a lot on reading rec.arts.anime.creative or rec.arts.anime.stories for them doesn't cover some of the ones made by other people who post in other locations or in newsgroups that people cannot get through their servers. And then, even some of the webpages we did find, we find out that some links try to access locations that aren't up anymore.

Solution: Create a website for people to read those hard to find fan-fictions without having to go around finding webpages that might have them or decides that because due to their server, they cannot support or allow it.

Only one thing we expect from others is if you have some fan-fiction that falls under the Adult/H/Ecchi/Sukebe/Hentai category, send it in to us so we can put it up if we haven't caught it yet.

Sakura Lemon Fanfiction Archive Refugee

Since mid-2001, specifically on April 11th, when there were no more frequent updates to the page, a good soul decided to create a refugee for Sakura Lemon Fanfiction Archive. This made it possible that as the original site was disappearing due to instability with the servers, no content was lost. Currently the site is only accessible through the resources of the Wayback Machine. Now is available only in Sakura Lemon Fanfiction Archive Refugee.

With the migration, not all authors could be notified or found, so the organization of the Archive of Refuge left a note at the beginning of the site:

Well, on this day that I am writing this the Sakura Lemon Fanfiction Archive has been down for some time. I have tried several times and in many different ways to contact the authors who have works up at the archive and I have managed to contact a few and garner their permission, however I could not contact all of them, face it, at this time some of the e-mail addresses are more than 8 years old, this is the internet after all, what's static here?
