"Sacrifice" is a Prison Break vid by Buffyann. It is a character study of Michael Scofield. It was posted to the vidder's LiveJournal on May 20, 2007.

From Vidder's Notes: "My goal was to display the struggle inside Michael's character, the constant reminder of what he did and how he must live with it. I also wanted to show his desire to make everything right will leads him to the sacrifice he makes in the end. Lincoln and Sara hence have a presence over the video without shadowing Michael because without them, he has no reason to do what he's doing. I wanted to properly describe the character's journey while remaining true to the show. I hope I did *cross fingers*"[1]

It won for "Best Use of Music" in Round 11 of the No Frontiers Video Awards.

Reactions/Reviews

This vid was reviewed by Ariss Tenoh at the reel vidding community on August 17, 2007:

Overall impression: It's a very nicely edited vid and with a good idea. Except the latter half felt as if it was tacked on to the main theme.

Titles: The titles and opening scene are well-done. Very much in the "prison" and "trapped" feel of the the show.

Music choice: I thought Hans Zimmer's music was better suited to this vid. But the inclusion of so many tracks was a little jarring.

Narration, Tone and Movement: The beginning and middle and right until the scene at the grave/tomb were logical and unified. It's only when the Sara part comes in that one feels it's a little disjointed. There was also a somewhat excessive emphasis on Michael's angsty face, in my opinion at least.

Cuts, Transitions, Effects & Colouring/Coloring: I loved the flashes of tragedy as it struck and how many people seem to have become entangled in the brothers' dilemma. That was probably my favourite part.

Final notes: I think it would have been better to keep the vid focused on Michael and the way his plans don't always worked. The last part with Sara didn't quite mesh.[2]
