During the 1970s, the Star Trek Welcommittee issued a series of questionnaires to its volunteer workforce.

Questions to the 1973 STW Volunteer Worker Questionnaire were issued to fans in July 1973, and some of the the results were published in A Piece of the Action #6 less than a month later. While it is unknown how many surveys were sent out, there were forty-three responses returned, which may be a pretty good response rate considering the short turn-around and the postal service.
