cover of issue #6

"The first page is an editorial and general info about the newsletter. Next come several pages of letters including one from Paul Darrow and from ABC. Also a recurring segment called "What the Actors Are Doing" which lists current (in 1982) projects the actors were involved in. Then there is a review/report of a convention trip, then an ad for new issue of Gambit (fanzine), then an episode review with interesting commentary of Redemption, ep. I, Season 2. The following page has a word search puzzle... Next is a page of background information on Terry Nation, then a short-short story by Sue Bursztynski (just 2 paragraphs), Next is an article entitled "Avon Does Care!" which resembles a story to me, more than an article. (it runs for 2 pages). The following page has info on a competition, then announcement of another competition, a list of "Avon Anagrams with Cryptic Clues)... and at the bottom of the page, a small cartoon. Next is advertisements for all kinds of things (photos, stickers, notepaper, zines), then a section on "Penfriends" available to correspond with. Then there is a list of clubs, zines, Star Trek clubs, conventions, and "other" stuff. The last page is a synopsis of the episode "Blake". The editorial says the synopsis of the last episode was requested by many members, but specifically NOT requested by others, so the editor made it the absolute last thing in the issue, so those who don't want to read it know where not to look, I guess." Then there is an excerpt from a "My Trip" article by Marilyyne Cromarty, (I found it mildly interesting), there is a short cartoon strip, and then there is a critique of "Blake's Seven Monthly" ... then there is an ad for Gambit, and extract from "The Galactic Times", then a word search puzzle... Next is a review "To Earn Such Loyalty" examination of Avon's relationship with Blake in the episodes Horizon, Pressure Point and Trial. Next is information on Brian Croucher, appearances on shows, etc. Then a full page of comics (page 17), then a short story? Entitled "Subject: Terminal Avonitis Plague Warning" (the editor wrote a note before the "story" that reads "..Not sure WHAT this is folks, perhaps one of you can enlighten me! - R." Next is a very short couple of paragraphs story, then info on the competition for the issue.
