Issue 1

cover of issue #1, Joan Ahlstrom

Reflection's 1 was published in December 1990 and contains 117 pages. Art information: Art by Joan Ahlstrom, Dawn K., Ellen Siders, Rita Terrell; color cover; the reverse sides of the 20 pieces of art are blank, making the total page count a bit misleading. Readers should note that in two stories Catherine is dead and Diana appears as a friend.

Poetry and various stories, Classic, 3rd and 4th season, introducing many new characters. Contributers include Judi Mollard, Carol Burt, L. Faulkner. In "The Dresser" by Mollard, Catherine acquires an old chest of drawers with love letters in it. In stories set in the 4th season, the focus is on either Jacob or Carol, a returning tunnel dweller who loved Vincent in childhood; Diana is a background presence. The apostrophe in the title is a possessive, not a plural. Had many nominations for Crystalline Rose Award 1991, and won for poetry (for Joan and Keith Ahlstrom's "Frost"). [1]

Issue 2

Reflection's 2 was published in May 1991 and contains 132 pages. Art by Joan Ahlstrom, Ellen Siders and Rita Terrell; color cover; again the reverse sides of the art are blank.

Classic, some 3rd season elements. In "Shall We Dance" by Joan Ahlstrom, Vincent is overwhelmed by jealousy upon seeing Catherine dancing in Mouse's arms. In "Memories" by Judi Mollard, we discover Catherine's dresser has a special meaning for a tunnel dweller. The 3rd season elements consist of several poems focused on Gabriel and a love letter from a surviving Elliot to Catherine (whom he believes dead), all by Keith Ahlstrom. Diana does not appear. Other contributors include Michelle Kafafi and Michael Vincent Small. [2]

Issue 3

Reflection's 3 was published in 1991 and contains 188 pages. Art by Joan Ahlstrom, Ellen Siders, Lynette Combs, Anna Deavers-Kelley, Barbara Gipson and Sandy Chandler Shelton; in addition to portrait-style art, there are also occasional illustrations (e.g., a theater poster for the Delacorte Theater).

cover of issue #3
"Spring Fever" by Ann R. Brown is an account of hijinks by one of the tunnel children. Wayne Kelley's "In the Watches of the Night" spins off from the end of "The Watcher;" it's also the first chapter of his planned novel, Give All to Love. Other fiction contributors include Joan Ahlstrom, Michael Vincent Small, Judi Mollard, and Jackie Skalski; poetry by Joan Ahlstrom, Keith Ahlstrom, and Teresa Panizo. Classic zine. [3]
