A phan is a fan of Phantom of the Opera, the American rock band Phish, and/or the animated series Danny Phantom. This word is based on the old naming convention of the Phantom of the Opera fandom: replacing "f" in fandom-related words with "ph" (after "Phantom"), e.g. "phandom" instead of "fandom", "phic" instead of "fic".
