Perspectives is a Kirk/Spock story by Charlotte Frost.

It was published in the print zine Counterpoint #1.

Summary

"Kirk accidentally hears one of McCoyʼs personal logs where McCoy relates how he sees Kirk and Spock relating to each other."

Reactions and Reviews

I liked the way the story was written with Kirk the silent observer, as McCoy and Spock both fussed over him while thinking he was too injured to be aware of them; and then as the surprised recipient of McCoy's personal log. I laughed when visualizing the stunned look on Kirk's face as he listened to the doctor's comments concerning himself and Spock, and I enjoyed Kirk's fast thinking in replacing the tape without McCoy being the wiser. This was a fun story to read. The sex scene was tender, patient and loving, and the idea of them examining each other's bodies to illustrate what they liked best was interesting. But Spock did seem too naive, and the sex, I felt, was a bit too slow-moving; after a while I wanted to see them "swept away" by the moment. [1]
