outofcontextanimash is an active Tumblr blog referring to itself as "a museum dedicated to the animash community"[1] which collects and shares out of context screencaps from animash videos.

Images are rarely tagged, even if they contain sexual or violent imagery. They also do not link to the original video or give credit to the creator (hence, out of context), though the videos can sometimes be found due to the animash community's tendency to watermark their videos. Sometimes people will find the video and give a link in the notes.

Screencaps may be submitted by any tumblr user. The submission guidelines say: "stop submitting stupid shit."

The blog sometimes attracts hate by people who feel their art is being stolen or mocked. Many of the blog's followers are not involved in the animash community and follow because they find the images humorous or interesting. Other people have sent hate based on the animashes themselves.

wow ok can you not promote drug abuse and sex on your blog in a community full of minors?

The blog occasionally shows Non/Disney screencaps but draws a wide distinction between the two.

important reminder

we accept submissions/screencaps from non/disney editing, but i need to make sure everyone knows something important about terminology

ANIMASH = ANIMAL MASHUP NOT ANIMATED MASHUP something is only ANIMASH if the MAJORITY of the clips are animated animals.

anything involving human animated movies is called NON/DISNEY (editing)

they’re NOT the same thing and the animash community and non/disney community rarely intersect/interact.

WORDS. MATTER.
