Oliver Scott ‘Oli’ Sykes is the frontman and lead vocalist of British rock band Bring Me the Horizon. He is also the founder of apparel company Drop Dead Clothing.
History
Oliver Sykes was born on November 20, 1986 in Ashford, Kent (England). He moved to Australia with his parents, Ian and Carol Sykes as an infant; the family moved between Adelaide and Perth during a period of about six years, then returned to the United Kingdom when he was about eight. They then settled in Stocksbridge, Sheffield (South Yorkshire).
Oli describes himself as shy, and says he had a rough time with being bullied in high school[1]. He briefly attended college before dropping out to start Bring Me the Horizon and Drop Dead.
Personal Life
Oli Sykes became a vegetarian[1] in 2003, after seeing a video by PETA. He is also an atheist.[1]
After receiving the Album of the Year award at the first Alternative Press Music Awards in 2014, Oli publicly gave a speech [1] revealing his history of addiction and abuse of the drug Ketamine that took fans by surprise.
Oli Sykes married his current wife, model and tattoo artist Hannah ‘Pixie’ Snowdon (now Sykes) on July 12, 2015. He was also previously in a relationship with Scottish model Amanda Hendrick from 2008-2012.
