From a publisher's ad in Universal Translator #18: "Kirk and Spock meet at opposite ends of the scale: Spock is captain of the Enterprise; Kirk is a mere slave aboard. Nevertheless, a relationship develops between them. There are no gory details and the main theme of the story is the Kirk/Spock relationship, not the slavery angle."
