Naice a Nilme (Sindarin for Pain and Friendship) is "a fanfiction archive that harbours Aragorn and/or Legolas centered angst, drama and torture stories."[1] The archive concentrates on hurt/comfort, action, adventure and even horror. Naice a Nilme is an archive for gen fiction. Het pairings, usually canon, can be found, but neither slash nor Mary Sues are allowed. NAN, as it is often called, is an automated archive running on eFiction and is maintained by Michelle.

The birth of Naice a Nilme was first announced by Aragornwriter in 2004 on the mailing list accompanying The Mellon Chronicles. In its first form, it was a manual archive for Aragorn/Legolas Friendship stories. This site saw one update and was then abandoned for roughly a year. The site was revived when Aragornwriter founded her own mailinglist, Owners of Aragorn Angst. NAN, before hosted on Aragornwriter's domain, now got its own space (http://www.naiceanilme.com) and was fully automated using eFiction. Administration of the website was handled by Aragornwriter and Michelle and fell to the latter when Aragornwriter dropped out of fandom. After five years, the site moved to http://www.naiceanilme.net in April 2010.

Naice a Nilme has retained much of its original goal - hosting angst and hurt/comfort with Aragorn and Legolas as main protagonists. However, the archive also encourages authors to write out of the boundaries of Aragorn/Legolas Friendship. This way, other characters are included as well - Halbarad, Faramir or Gimli, for instance.

Naice a Nilme is closely connected to Owners of Aragorn Angst, many users are active on both the mailing list and the website, though both have slightly different rules about what content may be posted.
