Muse is a term used in fandom RP referring to the character the fan is roleplaying as. It has also been used to refer to a character's influence in writing, as in soulbonding.

The term derives from ancient Greek mythology and religion, in which the Muses are the inspirational goddesses of literature, science, and the arts. In modern figurative usage, a Muse might be considered as a source of artistic inspiration.
