Merry, aka Merryish, has been in online fandom since around 1996 as a writer, vidder, archivist, list administrator, and community mod.

as fan fiction writer

She has written stories in Highlander, Sentinel, Stargate SG-1, popslash, due South, Stargate Atlantis, Smallville, and Supernatural as well as for the L'Engleverse, Boy Meets World, CSI, the Vorkosigan books, Numb3rs, Coldfire, Once A Thief, and Sports Night. Her stories can be found at her site anyroad as well as at the Archive of Our Own.

as fan fiction reader

Merry has a known fear mixed with hatred for stories that end unhappily, *and* a great number of friends who understand her. This has led to the concept of the Merry-safe ending: a tag that people include on Delicious links, or a line they mention in their fanfic reviews, that avers that the story's ending has been checked and approved.

as vidder

Merry has made vids in SGA, Numb3rs, and Smallville; her SGA vid "Hello" (2005) was a notable pimping vid and brought many people into SGA fandom. You can find some of her vids at her vid page.

as community mod, archivist, and organizer

  • Along with Nita, Merry created the Interim Sentinel Slash archive (which later became 852 Prospect under Nita's management) after the original Sentinel Slash archive became defunct in 1997.
  • Merry and Margie are the founders and co-moderators of the Sentinel list Prospect-L.
  • Merry was archivist of the DSA from 2001-2003.
