MacGeorge's Madness (or MacGeorge's Homepage) was a personal fanfiction site. It was a member of the Highlander Fanfic Webring and the Highlander Web Ring. It was originally hosted by GeoCities.

Description from Chelle's Nightstand:

I could say endless glowing things about MacGeorge's writing, but one of the things I enjoy most about her stories are the ideas they contain. She's thought about more than how beautiful Duncan and Methos look together naked, although that's there, too.[1]

Contents

  • Latest Updates - A log of recent postings and general info.
  • The Boardwalk - General fiction page. Some NC-17 for violence, some for sex.
  • Under the Boardwalk - Slash page. If you don't know what slash is, you probably don't want to go there.
  • Snippets - Shorter stories, generally based on an episode that inspired an alternate ending or additional observations.
  • The Endgame Trilogy - Presenting a way out of the self-destructive annihilation of the Game.
  • Work In Progress - Unfinished stuff. Be warned. I make no promises that there won't be changes or lags, fits and starts.
  • Immortal Nations - An alternative universe featuring a reality created as a result of what happened in The Endgame Trilogy
  • Picture Gallery - Several pages of pictures taken from HL posters.
  • Links to Other Interesting Places
  • New feature! - Do you have one of those palm pad readers? Would you like to download fanfiction so you can read them during all those boring meetings at the office, or on the plane, or on the train? My stories are now archived at "You Want Fries With That?" The Fan Fiction TO GO Archive.

From the Guestbook

Great work MacGeorge, I really love Endgame and Immortal Nations. You write stories I wish I'd come up with! All the best -- Melina (05 April 1998)

I like your fanfiction-stories very much, the greatest of it "Archangel Redeemed", wich I found to be the greatest peace of Highlander fanfiction, I ever read. Wish only they had done a story like this and not the mishappen two episodes of the sixt season in the series... but I like your other stories at this page as well. i want to thank you for it; felt I was just starving, addict of Highlander and especially of the relationship/ fiendship between duncan and the ROG, as I am, when I found your stoiries a d your page. And was saved. Just, give us more! In adoration (to your writing skills) Your sincerly Helga *worshipper (by determination) of the ROG* (08 April 1998)

I love your fiction, which is why I've asked how to find your web page. Not interested in "slash," but the rest is wonderful! (I'm sorry...I just don't see Duncan and Methos *together*.) (Celina, 14 April 1998)

So, how does it feel to be a celebrity? Just about every HL fan I've had contact with on the Net claims to enjoy your writing. Those that have not yet read your work, I send a link to Q3 and they are immediately hooked and want more. So nice that you now ave your own website. Makes sending links that much easier. :-) (Windy, 28 April 1998)

MacGeorge, I think you are one of the few fanfic writers who truly captures theessence of the characters of those we adore. Love the angst and sexual tension (and sometimes culmination) between Mac and ROG, but don't want a cutesy gay couple feeling at he end. Also like "Princess..." as no one really pays much attention to Amanda. Thanks for continuing to fan the flames!! (Akasha, 21 April 1998)

Your stories depict Duncan so well. Methos is easier to write, but not many authors get ONH just right. I like everything you do, from slash to action, to angst, and the "Be Careful What You Wish For" was...uh...whew! Keep writing, please. How you came to be here!: Read your stories in Quill Club. (Ysanne, 13 May 1998)

Hey, I'm only half the way through, "Changing Spots" and am enjoying it so much. I've always try to keep up with your web site and was glad to see you have something new. I'll check back when I get finished with your story. (MACBear, 30 May 1998)

Your stories are wonderful, especially "Endgame" and "Archangel Redeemed" (both much better than the actual end of the series and the AAA arc, respectively. Great characterization of all the canon people, and certainly the best of Methos and MacLeod. I al o admire the "Immortal Nations" stories and hope you'll keep on writing for a long time. (Tanja Kinkel - 08 June 98)

What can I say? Your works are some of the best fanfic I have read in a long time and I'm dying for more! I can't wait for the Immortal Nations update, I keep reading it over and over again to make sure I don't forget...Yeah right! Anyway...Great Job! and keep up the good work! (Jessi M., 14 June 1998)

I'm not sure how I originally got your url, possibly through Maygra. At any rate, every now and then I check for further writings of yours. I very much enjoy your writings in general both because of how you stay well in the characters we know and because of your unique ideas, such as those which led to the Immortal Nations, the conclusion of which, by the way, I'm *very* eagerly anticipating. I enjoyed your newest story. You may not choose to do slash very often, but you definitely do it very well. (Sara Blatt, 23 July 1998)

I've read several of your stories and so far my favorite is "Quickenings 3" I like how you portray Methos as Mac's torch you could say. Your portrayal of Duncan's strenth to fight and his will to survive is done very well. You kept them in Character throughout the piece. I also read "The Cutting Edge". That one was a little disturbing only in the fact that I read one similar to Duncan's captivity to a story of Fox Mulder in an X-file story. These two are so close to each other. . . It was Spooky! Keep up the good writing and I'll try to catch up on the rest of your stories. Sarah (17 August 1998)

I have been totally blown away by your stories. There hasn't been one that I can't see in my mind each and every move the characters make. Or location that you have written about. I can hardly wait to see how the Passions storyline comes out. And the nhanced version of Swords at Sunset. Keep on writing!! (Angela, 06 October 1998)

I know you have to write what your muse tells you (I'm a writer too, so I know...) but I wish you would write more non-slash for those of us who don't like slash. You have an amazing talent, but, no offense, you waste it when you write slash , which I fe l is non-Highlander-like. Just my opinion... (Celina, 16 October 1998)

I read a lot of HL fanfic and have been trying to get my sister to read some, too, but she always said she loved the show too much to read trashy fan stuff. What to do? Thought if I could get her to read something so good, so powerful, so right, so wonde ful that she couldn't deny the depth and passion of at least some of the genre, she might actually stop sniggling over my addiction. Since Archangel Redeemed is among the very best complete-length works of fanfic out there, it was the obvious choice. She hasn't sniggled since. Thanks for all the great writing. Hope you always get to keep it up. (Resh, 04 January 1999)

I am finally going to say it. Your Endgame trilogy was awesome. Although, I do favor slash fiction especially D/M, it was so nice reading about the alternative world, manipulation of the Game. Now I am waiting for the next segment of the Immortal World Love that one also since D and M are somewhat together. Keep writing. I like your style. (Lurker, 31 January 1999)

Hi! Wandered in here from Maygra's site and enjoyed your stories both there and in her recommendations. I was on my way to ENDGAME before hitting IMMORTAL NATIONS and decided to read CHAOS CHRONICLES. This has to be the weirdest, most fantastical origin s ory yet, but still wonderfully written! I doubt anyone other than yourself could have pulled it off. I will complete my journey in MACGEORGE'S MADNESS before I move on to ENDGAME. How you came to be here!: MAYGRA'S MUSINGS (PAULA LACONSTANCE, 09 October 1999)

MacGeorge, IMHO, is right at the top of an extremely talented group of writers. Her characterisations are perfect, her plots have wonderful pace and excitement, and they're extremely well thought out. She brings heart and soul to the characters' relatio ships, whether slash or not, and most importantly, no matter what happens, our beloved favourites don't ever lose their dignity, regardles of what happens. She SHOULD be writing Highlander novels and selling them - I know I'd be standing in line for them If that's at all possible MacGeorge, please consider it. (Tia D., 18 March 2000)

Hey! I'm extremely new to Highlander fandom having just recently rediscovered the show when it started airing on Space in Canada. Anyway - I really like your stories -- they're awesome and they seem to be fueling a Highlander obsession! Thanks -- also great Webpage! ps: Revenant is awesome - can't wait to read more! How you came to be here!: looking for highlander fanfic on altavista (meumar, 08 May 2000)

I love your stories. Archangel Redeemed has always been in my top 3 favorite HL fanfics of all time. And I just read Changing Spots and Quickening III, and they both blew me away. The lust for Quickening power in the latter story makes a lot of sense t me as an obvious element of the Gathering and the Game. Thanks so much and please keep writing HL! (Teresa Coffman, 25 June 2000)

Wanted to compliment you on "Holy Ground". It is a very wistful, touches-your-heart kind of story. Thank you for keeping the HL Universe alive and well with your wonderful and thought provoking fanfiction. Good Writing to You! Jude (10 August 2000)

One of the best HIGHLANDER fanfic sites on the net. And as I've already told MacGeorge, the best writer. Keep up the good work. How you came to be here!: Researching Highlander for a possible unauthorized guide wandered in and couldn't find my way out again....... (Scott, 25 August 2000)
