Summary

From Media Monitor: "In this post-BLAKE story, Blake and Avon are reunited and must deal with some pretty powerful emotions concerning their pasts and their futures. This is a love story."

The longer he stared the less sure of himself he was. The pounding of his heart was like that of a madman trying to break down a wall. His entire being was aroused, yet cowering at the overwhelming wave of it. He was opening himself up to something here that had the potential to kill... in fact, it had before. Yet that last time had been somewhat different. Avon's reaction to Blake and subsequent shooting had been the result of being rejected.. Now Blake stood in those shoes and knew, intimately, how it must have felt, how Avon believed he had been rejected by Blake, and broke.

"Now it's your turn, Avon, to reject me," he whispered.

The sleeping man stirred. A hand rose in defectiveness as the dark eyes opened, then relaxed when he saw it was Blake.

"Blake," Avon said, voice still slurred from sleep. He squinted, blinked. "You almost managed to impact your face with my hand. What are you doing?"

"Watching you."

"Watching me?" Avon turned his head away.

Blake buried his head in the spread at Avon's side, still kneeling, still very much aroused.

"Your gift for dramatics in your approach is not amusing," Avon said drily.

Blake lifted his face and pushed himself higher onto the bed so he was looking down at Avon, Avon made no move to retreat, his eyes never leaving Blake's. Not even when Blake's lips lowered and brushed Avon's unmoving ones.
