Judy Segal was a long time Star Trek fan whose early contributions to the Star Trek Welcommittee, and long tenure as the editor of the Welcommittee's Directory of Star Trek Organizations, introduced hundreds of thousands of new fans to the Star Trek fandom community.
In 1980 she published Protocols, a 55-page booklet on etiquette for fanzine publishers, contributors & consumers. She also wrote and published Understanding Kraith.
She passed away in November 2016.
