Captain John Hart is a character introduced in the second series of Torchwood. He was a former partner "in all ways" of Captain Jack Harkness when they worked together in the Time Agency in the 51st century. He is portrayed by James Marsters.
"Captain John Hart" is not the character's real name, and his real name remains unknown. Upon hearing "Captain Jack Harkness"'s name, "John" sarcastically made up the name "Captain John Hart" on the spot in response.
John is canonically omnisexual, and fans pair him most popularly with Jack.
