ItsIncredible.com was a Zac Hanson fansite that also featured general band news and information, a forum and fanfic hosting. The site was somewhat controversial because of the quality of stories posted there and several instances of plagiarism.

On the Various Artists forum, a user had the following to say when an instance of plagiarism was discovered:

At least they added something to the II site about not plagiarizing and they deleted that member. Unfortunately, They also wrote, "If you come across a plagiarzed story dont ridiicule the author."

I think that's ridiculous. Anyone who steals a story should be ridiculed by everyone. What else do they think is going to stop them? People post fake stories to recieve a certain approval from readers. It's for the response. So if they response is suddenly VERY negative, they will stop. Deleting their user name does nothing.

It's just stupid because II doesn't want a bad name for it's website....but I bet a ton of those stories are plagiarized.[1]

Another user had the following to say about the website:

Itsincredible.com drives me nuts! So sometimes I go in there, read some of the ammauteur work (some of it's good, but for the most part it's not the best but you have to start somewhere) and I give feedback! For instance. Someone posts a story and asks for feedback. I reply:

I like your style and your unique plot. My only warning is do not make your character a victim. You want to always make your main character likeable...or at least, there needs to be ONE hero in EVERY story. DOn't let your cahracter feel sorry for herself unless she realizes at some point she is not a victim of the world. Good luck!

Someone replies to me:

Dude, it's her story..not yours. Let her write it the way she wants to. Keep up the kick ass Brit! It's perfect the way it is!

WHAT?!?!? Am I just spoiled by intelligent authors really pulling apart fiction and giving real feedback?!

This just drives me nuts. I know the clear solution is to just not go there, and basically I won't too much. But I just had to vent about this! Why are some writing communities so scared of posts that don't just say, "LOVE IT!!!! POST MORE!!!! I WANNA KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!!!"[2]
