Theodore Rufus "Teddy" Kaplan-Altman, also known as Emperor Hulkling and Dorrek VIII, is a Marvel Comics character who appears in Young Avengers, New Avengers and recently became a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. His powers were initially patterned after Hulk, but revealed to actually be shapeshifting as a result of being half-Skrull and half-Kree.
He's one of the most prominent queer characters in comics, currently happily married to Billy Kaplan who has been his canonical partner since the character's introduction. Interestingly, Teddy was originally pitched as a female character posing as a man[1] similar to Xavin and another queer couple introduced around the same time period, Karolina Dean/Xavin.
Canon
Teddy first appeared in Young Avengers #1 in April 2005 with very little revealed about his backstory. It ws later revealed by the Super Skrull that Teddy is a Skrull. Then it's revealed that when Super Skrull kidnapped Captain Mar-vell, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch during the Kree-Skrull War story arc, Captain Mar-vell conceived a child with the Skrull Princess Anell.[2] When the Skrull emperor Dorrek VII wanted to kill the child, he was smuggled to earth and raised as a human.
Eventually, Teddy accepts his heritage and becomes the leader of the Kree-Skrull Alliance at the cost of temporarily leaving Billy on Earth. He has come into posession of Excelsior, a magic sword that Teddy appears to mostly misuse as furniture when he isn't fighting.

From Teddy's first appearance with Billy Kaplan, readers were shipping the two of them and as early as Young Avengers #2 the letters page of the comics featured reader comments about the pair. Teddy Altman/Billy Kaplan is by far the most popular pairing in the Young Avengers fandom, with over twice the amount of fic as the second most popular pairing on AO3.[3]
Other popular pairings for Teddy include threesomes, such as Teddy Altman/Billy Kaplan/Loki and Teddy Altman/Billy Kaplan/Tommy Shepherd. Teddy Altman/Tommy Shepherd is also popular, although these fics often feature Teddy dating both Maximoff twins.
