Homestuck Gaiden was the side project of Robert "R!" Lake, a member of the Homestuck Music Team, and run by other members of the Homestuck Music Team.[1][2] Homestuck Gaiden released a total of four albums before it was frozen due to MS Paint Adventures' fanwork policy.[3] Despite Homestuck Gaiden's albums being produced by the "official" music team, they are considered fanworks by the authors and are not released under the official WhatPumpkin label for sanctioned Homestuck music.

There is no longer any way to download the albums for free off of bandcamp. 3rd party downloads for the albums are entirely legal, due to the fact that the Homestuck fanworks policy requires that fanmusicians make no money off of their own works.[4] Therefore, this article will feature download links for albums when available.

Homestuck Gaiden Albums

Homestuck for the Holidays

Homestuck for the Holidays is an unofficial charity Homestuck album created by the official Homestuck music team. The album's streaming page can be found on the Homestuck Gaiden bandcamp page, and has a list of all artists who worked on the music.[5] Until the account was frozen, all money from the purchasing of the album would go to Child's Play Charity. Although the album is no longer downloadable from bandcamp, it is recommended that you donate to Child's Play if you decide to download this album.

Land of Fans and Music

Land of Fans and Music is a collaborative unofficial Homestuck album created by various fan musicians. Track art was also created by various fan artists. A link to all artists and musicians can be found on individual songs on the albums bandcamp page.[6] A total of 53 songs were produced for the album, many of which done by fanmusicians not on the Homestuck music team.

Jailbreak Vol. 1

Unlike the other three albums in Homestuck Gaiden, Jailbreak Vol. 1 is for another MSPA series entitled Jailbreak. Like "Homestuck for the Holidays," this album is made by the Homestuck music team, and is also an unofficial work. A list of musicians and artists can be found on the bandcamp page.[8] A more specific list of song writers can be found on the forums.[9]

Tomb of the Ancestors

The Tomb of the Ancestors is a solo album created by Kali, or Robert Blaker, a member of the Homestuck music team. This is the only Homestuck solo album released under the Homestuck Gaiden name and not the WhatPumpkin name. Tomb of the Ancestors is released under the unofficial name due to the fact that including it under the canon body of works might corrupt the official story of the ancestors.[11] Also, the album was written before some of the Ancestors' personalities were revealed, as well as the post-post-Scratch personalities, therefore classifying the album as non-canon compliant.[12] Andrew Hussie denied Kali official release on the solo album, therefore prompting Kali to release it for free.[13]
