His Own Hand is a Merlin/Arthur story by Crazypaving. It was written for kinkme_merlin. The original is written in the present tense but the author wrote a past-tense version as well.[1]

I had to have at least one kinky one (OK, there'll probably be more than one) and this one has spanking. Arthur is required to punish Merlin. It's light-hearted, and hits perfectly in character, which is quite hard to achieve in kinkier fic. They're very much them (and Uther is very much Uther) and it's enjoyable in every way."[2]
It's difficult to say something about this fic that won't give too much away. Lets just say that if the fic had carried on the way it seems at the start it wouldn't have been my kind of fic so don't let some of what's threatening to happen scare you away, but the spanking is there. Oh boy yes it is... The author describes it as angst that suddenly grows a sense of humour and that works for me. Lots of sparkling dialog and slightly hysterical inner monologue. And did I mention the spanking? *squirms* Fic made me read on frantically and with burning cheeks, it made me giggle and seriously hot and bothered."[3]
