harry_and_ron was a Harry Potter Yahoo! Groups mailing list for fanfiction and discussion about the relationship between Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, whether gen or slash.
The group was started in October 2000. As of June 7, 2002, it had 579 members and a total of over 1,400 messages. List activity prior to June 2002 had peaked in December 2001, with 417 messages posted for the month.[1]
The group was deleted in late 2003, reportedly because the list owner had left the fandom.[2][3]
Group Description
This is a list devoted to the characters of Harry Potter and Ron Weasley from the JKR series. Fanfic and discussion about these two characters and their friendship is the order of the day. It is especially intended for stories based around these two characters. General friendship fic and slash stories - both are welcome onlist. However, it should have Ron and Harry and their friendship/relationship at the heart of the fic. No other pairings please. Due to the possible mature themes, 18 and older only, please.[1]
