The Hanson Novelist Guild was an elite club created by Alexandra Searson for Hanson fanfic authors. The site required an application and reviewed stories before approving them for membership. Later on, it also provided hosting to authors. An explanation of the guild's purpose:
Hullo, chaps! Welcome to the Hanson Novelists Guild! We have here an organization dedicated to Hanson fan fiction, poetry, and any other type of literature you can think of involving Hanson. It's a writer's club; join, send us your stories, and we'll pick the best to post! Every month we'll choose five stories to feature on the site. All of the stories will be available in our archives. Once you're a member, you can put our banner on your site, and sign all of your stories with your name plus our name and URL. Keep in mind that though non-members have access to the archives, they do not get to see the cream of the crop, our members' stories! Just more incentive to join. If our organization gets big enough, everyone will benefit! Your stories will be read, and with such a wide range of fiction, we'd stand a good chance at the Hanson Web Awards (which were recently made big by popular Hanson domain, hansonet.net). We request that wherever you post your stories, you sign them with our name. That way we'll gain popularity much quicker, and everyone will be happy... the true goal of the world. During Sra's time leading the site, a Yahoo! Group existed. The group was created on July 18, 2001 and in October 2019 it had 162 members.[2]
