Girls' Dormitory was a Harry Potter femslash archive. It archived over 500 stories[1] and had over 350 members,[2] and it was described by Madam Hooch's Broom Closet as:

"The newest, most comprehensive archive in the fandom for f/f slash. All ratings, all pairings, all genres. It also has active discussion boards there for the exclusive purpose of talking about HP femmeslash. A must-see."[3]

History

The archive was started by katemonkey with the support of the hp_girlslash LiveJournal community in April 2003[4] and was officially launched in July.[5] It was an open archive that allowed anyone to submit stories.[6] At one point, it ran on eFiction software.[2]

A preliminary draft of the archive's FAQ[7] stated that it would accept all f/f pairings, all ratings, and all genres, providing only that there is no explicit sex involving characters under the age of 14. Additionally, it stated that the archive would only accept completed stories and no WIPs, though it is unclear whether this policy changed.

What can I find on Girls' Dormitory?
A lot of stories where the girls (and women) of the Harry Potter universe are loving other girls (and women). Ratings can vary from G to NC-17, pairings can vary from Hermione/Ginny to MacGongall/Hooch [sic], and genres can vary from the sweetest of romances to the darkest of tortures. But, generally, a lot of girls loving each other. [...]

What else is on Girls' Dormitory?

Aside from the archive, we have a fanart collection (artwork created by fans), and a message board. We will also have essays and articles to assist authors with writing female/female slash fanfiction. [...]

What do you accept for fanart?

We accept any and all depictions of female/female bonding/loving in the Harry Potter universe. We will also accept solo pieces, but this is on a case-by-case basis. For more answers, please ask the art editor.[7]

The archive seems to have gone offline sometime in late 2006. Its URL currently redirects to hp_girlslash. The site is not archived by the Wayback Machine because its robots.txt file prevented crawling.[8]
