The Force Bond is a common trope used in Star Wars works, wherein a telepathic link is created between two Force users allowing them to share sounds, images, feelings or thoughts over a considerable distance. The relationship between Master and padawan (apprentice) can result in the creation of a Force Bond between them. A force bond can exist between force users on opposite sides of the Force, namely the light side and the dark. This trope appears in both canon and fanworks.

In fandom, this trope can appear in gen works as well as works shipping two characters together. It appears in works across all three Star Wars Trilogies. While canon force bonds have only been shown to exist between two force users, fanworks sometimes examine bonds between a force user and an individual who is not sensitive to the force.
