From the editorial:

1986 has finally arrived. And with it, volume two of the FNS. volume one of the FNS had had many problems, which we hope to avoid this time around. Mainly, our active staff was, for the most part, inactive. Issue one was completed in April 1985, but wasn't published until November 1985! This year, wo plan to break our backs, if necessary, to keep to our new quarterly schedule. And to make sure everyone receives an issue, we have thrown out our old policy of hand-delivering local issues--all issues will now be mailed. Although this issue displays a distinct lack of articles and stories from other clubs, I must tell you that we are expanding our horizons. At the Creation Convention in Palo Alto last October, I was introduced [lists a number of fan clubs, national and international, Star Trek and Star Wars]. Well, I hope you enjoy this issue of the FNS. And be sure to have a Happy New year!
