The Fanderson (also known as Fanderson Marathon or All Things Marathon) was a fannish charity event organised by fans of Gillian Anderson to raise money for charities supported by Gillian Anderson.[1] It was held annually between 2009 and 2013. Inspired by the Scullython which originated from Order of the Blessed Saint Scully the Enigmatic and initiated by IBG Inc., several Fandersons were held around the world by fans.

Usually people gathered for a Viewing Party (were the Anderson written and penned X-Files episode all things) and two [2] Gillian Anderson films of the host and/or group's choice were shown. Every participant, the host and all guests, payed US$10 /€10 each to participate. 100% of the money went to a charity chosen by Gillian Anderson.

The most recent Fanderson was held in 2013.

2011 Global Fanderson Marathon

Annual “All Things” Worldwide Event Once again, throughout the month of April, fans of Gillian Anderson will celebrate her work on television and in films during this international, month-long fundraiser to benefit a charity of her choosing (to be determined). Fans will gather in cities, towns, and remotely via the Internet for a viewing party and other fundraising activities, such as games and raffles. We are thrilled to announce that this year Legendary Women Inc. is lending their support to these efforts.

It’s that time of year! We are recruiting fans who are interested in hosting viewing parties for the “All Things” Global Fundraiser in the month of April. The format is very similar to that of the previous year’s event: it opens with a viewing of Gillian Anderson's written/directed episode of The X-Files, “all things,” and then onto two [2] Gillian Anderson films of the host and/or group's choice. Every participant, the host and all guests, pays 10 USD each to participate. 100% of this will go to a charity chosen by Gillian Anderson. If you are interested in hosting one of these events, please email us at: [email protected]. Please take a look at the outline and rules for the event below. EVERYONE across the globe is invited to participate in this exciting fundraiser.
  • Participation is open to any “Fanderson” worldwide.
  • Each group will have one [1] organiser, who is responsible for hosting the event and inviting fellow Fandersons/Philes.
  • The structure of the event is simple. It opens with a viewing of Gillian Anderson's written/directed episode of The X-Files, “all things,” and then onto two [2] Gillian Anderson films of the host and/or group's choice.
