The Fan and Audience Studies Scholarly Interest Group of the Society of Cinema and Media Studies is a group of fan studies scholars who form a subgroup of SCMS. The interest group sponsors various panels at SCMS conferences and tweets using the hashtag #FaAS. The interest group was founded in 2015.

Their website includes their mission statement ("to promote and advance work in the fields of fan studies, audience studies, and reception studies, to offer a means for those engaged in the fields to converse and collaborate with one another, to provide pedagogical resources, and to support collaborative scholarship between our members and the Society for Cinema and Media Studies membership at large") as well as their contact information.

Currently Paul Booth and Louisa Stein are co-chairs, Lesley Willard is the graduate student representative, and Bertha Chin and Lori Morimoto are steering committee members.
