FAN-tastic is a multimedia gen anthology of filks and comics with at least two issues.

Issue 1

FAN-tastic 1 was published in 1981 and contains 40 pages. It is subtitled "Filk Songs and other Fannish Delights."

Contributors were Paul Cary, K.G. Lester, Diane Lee Myers, Jeff Ponche, and Chris Weber.

This issue features music by Chris Weber. Some of these songs appear on the filk cassette tape, "I Filk" also published by DAG Productions.

The lyrics were reprinted in book form in 2022 as part of the 107 song collection, "Sentient Chili and Stranger Filk."

From the zine:

My good friend, Chris Weber, gave me permission to print his songs. However, not wanting to be limited to one song writer, I started to search for others. Once Istarted asking around, a strange thing happened; people I asked said, "Well, I don't have any songs, but I have some other material you might want to look at."

Having this wide range of material offered to me did cause a dilemma. Should I use only Filk songs, or should I take everything and put it all together? After some heavy soul searching, I made up my mind what this Zine was going to look like.

First, it would be a regular publication. I have so much material I can't get away with printing only one. As it stands now, it looks as if FAN-tastic will be coming out four times a year. That is as much as the two of us (my bank account and I) can stand at this point. Second, it would be made with high quality paper and printing. I've had too many Zines fall apart In my hands. Along these lines I would have a very readable type face. This would allow a guitarist to place the Zine on the floor and still be able to read it. Third, I would publish things that aren't normally published. There are many things out in fandom that don't have a place to be printed. Filk songs are only a small example of this.

Issue 2

FAN-tastic 2 (v.1 n.2) was published in 1982 and contains 40 pages.

This issue features music by Karen Willson. Some of these songs appear on the filk cassette tape, Children of the Future, one of the first filk cassettes ever published (in 1979 by the since defunct Hourglass Productions.) The album was re-released on cassette and later on CD, both from DAG Productions.
