Faanfiction is a term used in older science fiction fandom.
It is not the same as fanfiction. Faanfiction was the practice of fans writing fiction about fans (real or fictional) or fandom itself and publishing those stories in zines. The best known work of faanfiction is The Enchanted Duplicator (1954).

Although the term faanfiction is no longer popular, the fan practice of fictionalizing fellow fen and/or elements of fan culture has continued under various names. See metafic and Fandom RPF.
