Eylul Dogruel is a former member of the Organization for Transformative Works Board of Directors, having served for a three-year term from 2013-2015. She joined the Board in October 2012; there was no contested election that year.[1] She served as OTW Elections Officer for 2013 and 2014, and the President in 2015. Dogruel, along with the rest of the 2015 board, resigned from the board effective December 15, 2015.[2]
Dogruel was previously a co-lead for the OTW Survey workgroup, and was a member of the Internationalization & Outreach committee and the Category Change workgroup in 2012. From 2009 to 2011, she was a member of the Accessibility, Design & Technology committee.
Dogruel prefers for her legal name and fan identity not to be connected publicly:
"While I do have a separate semi-fannish dreamwidth presence, I recently decided to create a separate place for OTW related posts and related topics. I'd like to keep these two identities not linked over google but if you'd like to know who I am, please comment on this post [on Dreamwidth] with your email (all comments are screened) I will get back to you."[3]
OTW Biography
Eylul Dogruel is an artist and an MFA candidate at Marmara University, Istanbul. She has an eclectic background combining computer sciences and art. Her knowledge and interests cover a range of topics including new media, sci-fi, customer support, web technologies, and usability. Eylul is a lifelong fan and has moved through various media and gaming fandoms. She is a fanfic reader, fanart appreciator, an MMO roleplayer and, occasionally, a meta writer. Her current fandoms include Warcraft, Doctor Who and The Longest Journey/Dreamfall.[4]
