One of the most enjoyable thing about any fandom is watching as a writer matures in her craft. Channel_D was one of the first dozen slash writers I found when I rejoined the family. I've read all of her work available online...and I believe this is her finest MFU work. Illya allows himself to be sexually used to obtain vital THRUSH intel. Although this premise has been used before by many authors, this story does not take a simplistic approach. This is NOT a "my little Illya" story. Channel_D crafts a portrait of how a person can learn to adaptively manage emotional & physical trauma. Professionally speaking, these are the tools we hope someone who has suffered abuse can learn to use. I respect her both for her obvious growth as a writer and for presenting a realistic viewpoint of someone learning to not live as a victim.[1]
